Caught by the River Present…

Caught by the River is an arts/nature/culture clash, posting daily at caughtbytheriver.net. It was conceived in 2007 as an online meeting place for pursuits of a distinctly non-digital variety: walking, fishing, looking, thinking. From birdsong and beer to adventure and poetry; life’s small pleasures, in all their many flavours.

The CBTR crew have been running a stage at The Good Life Experience since the very beginning, and return this year (to Camp Good Life) with another triumphant line-up.

Campers big and small can start the day listening to Melissa Harrison read from her children’s books By Ash, Oak and Thorn (recently published by Chicken House) and sequel By Rowan and Yew (due out in October).

Later on, Caught by the River stalwart Will Burns will read from his debut novel The Paper Lantern, and answer questions put to him by master of ceremonies John Andrews. Nicola Chester will discuss her upcoming book On Gallows Down: Place, Protest and Belonging with Melissa Harrison, and Baxter Dury will read from his memoir Chaise Longue; an intimate disclosure of teenage life from the underbelly of rock 'n' roll.

Afterwards comes a special solo set from Boy Azooga main man Davey Newington.

Caught by the River form a collective whole that represents an outlook on a world full of endless discovery, innovation, poetry…but mainly just doing things for the sheer joy-giving hell of it.
