WHAT'S ON AT TGLE 2020?

In 11 months time the Helter Skelter will be going up, the tents will be decorated and soundsystem checked. We're staying on the same site for TGLE 2020, and once again limiting numbers of guests to 3,000.

We don't want to be huge. We simply want to focus on doing things really well. So, what can you expect to find at The Good Life Experience 2020?

CAMPFIRE COOKING

Over the past six years TGLE co-founder Caroline Gladstone has been bringing some of the biggest names in the world of food to cook over our campfire. No ovens. No hobs. No shortcuts.

2019 highlights included fermentation expert Sandor Katz, the incredible team behind The Ethicurean, Valentine Warner -featuring impromptu book readings- and the master of mushrooms, Roger Phillips.

The Good Life Experience is a fully fledged food festival. And a really good one at that. But we're so much more too...

EXPERT CRAFTSPEOPLE

Craft is at the core of what we do. Indeed, we give the same respect to craft and the curation of our line-up of experts in modern and heritage crafts as we do our musicians, chefs or speakers.

From signwriting to screenprinting and pottery to blacksmithery, there's more craft on offer than you could ever hope to cover in one weekend. Happily, TGLE 2020 kicks off from Thursday afternoon!

WORKSHOPS

The Good Life Experience is a festival of making. And with a huge number of free-to-join workshops running all weekend long you're sure to leave on Monday with a new skill.

Carve a spoon, bake a loaf, fire a handmade bow & arrow, glaze a pot, press some apples, sharpen an axe, print a t shirt, learn the harmonica, sing with the choir, practise yoga, light a fire...

THE LAKE

The lake, boathouse and surrounding woodlands have been TGLE stalwarts for the past few years. And when the sun streams through the canopy onto the waterlilies below it's easy to see why it's many people's favourite spot.

We'll see you there for a dip into the joys of wild swimming.

THE FEASTS

Good food and The Good Life go hand-in-hand. So each year we host a series of Feasts to celebrate the best food our chefs can create, all within a warm, friendly, communal dining experience.

These events often fill up fast. To be the first to know about 2020 Feasts book your festival tickets early. We'll let all Early Birds and Super Early Birds know 48 hours before anyone else.

Keep your eyes peeled for our 2020 Feast line-up...

DOGS

We're proud to be Britain's most dog-friendly festival. 2019 saw us stage a full programme for dogs, from lake diving to the dog show, and you can be sure we have big plans for what's to come.

Don't leave your handsome hound at home, let them live the Good Life too!

GLAMPING IN THE WALLED GARDEN

This year we hosted our Glamping area in the peaceful confines of the Walled Garden at Hawarden Castle. It was special.

If you're looking to spend the weekend in complete comfort, we can accommodate you. Each canvas bell tent will have a proper wooden double bed, mattress, sheets, duvet, blankets, two directors' chairs, a bedside table and lamp, plus access to really good showers and loos all weekend long. The Glamping bell tents can include up to two camp beds for children, with sleeping bags supplied, as well as your double bed. Guests will also enjoy a daily bed-making service and phone charging facilities.

The Walled Garden is limited to just 20 Glamping pitches.

UNDERS 5s GO FREE

All children under five can join in The Good Life Experience for free! That's up to four full days of campfires, friends, s'mores, tree climbing, fairground riding, afternoon snoozing, rope swinging, bow and arrow making fun.

Yes, they may be a little feral by the end of the weekend... but isn't that the point?
